Ayaat from the Quran
{ ٱلْحَجُّ أَشْهُرٌ مَّعْلُومَٰتٌ فَمَن فَرَضَ فِيهِنَّ ٱلْحَجَّ فَلَا رَفَثَ وَلَا فُسُوقَ وَلَا جِدَالَ فِي ٱلْحَجِّ وَمَا تَفْعَلُوا مِنْ خَيْرٍ يَعْلَمْهُ ٱللَّهُ وَتَزَوَّدُوا فَإِنَّ خَيْرَ ٱلزَّادِ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ وَٱتَّقُونِ يَٰأُولِي ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ } [البقرة:197].
The Hajj (pilgrimage) is (in) the well-known (lunar year) months (i.e. the 10th month, the 11th month and the first ten days of the 12th month of the Islâmic calendar, i.e. two months and ten days). So whosoever intends to perform Hajj therein by assuming Ihrâm), then he should not have sexual relations (with his wife), nor commit sin, nor dispute unjustly during the Hajj. And whatever good you do, (be sure) Allâh knows it. And take a provision (with you) for the journey, but the best provision is At-Taqwa (piety, righteousness, etc.). So fear Me, O men of understanding! { surah al baqarah 197}
{ وَإِن طَلَّقْتُمُوهُنَّ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَمَسُّوهُنَّ وَقَدْ فَرَضْتُمْ لَهُنَّ فَرِيضَةً فَنِصْفُ مَا فَرَضْتُمْ إِلَّا أَن يَعْفُونَ أَوْ يَعْفُوَا ٱلَّذِي بِيَدِهِ عُقْدَةُ ٱلنِّكَاحِ وَأَن تَعْفُوا أَقْرَبُ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ وَلَا تَنسَوُا ٱلْفَضْلَ بَيْنَكُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ } [البقرة:237].
And if you divorce them before you have touched (had a sexual relation with) them, and you have appointed unto them the Mahr (bridal money given by the husbands to his wife at the time of marriage), then pay half of that (Mahr), unless they (the women) agree to forego it, or he (the husband), in whose hands is the marriage tie, agrees to forego and give her full appointed Mahr, And to forego and give (her the full Mahr) is nearer to At-Taqwa (piety, right-eousness, etc.), And do not forget liberality between yourselves. Truly, Allâh is All-Seer of what you do.
{ surah al baqarah 237}
Also Almighty says
{ يَٰأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا لَا تُحِلُّوا شَعَٰئِرَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا ٱلشَّهْرَ ٱلْحَرَامَ وَلَا ٱلْهَدْيَ وَلَا ٱلْقَلَٰئِدَ وَلَا ءَامِّينَ ٱلْبَيْتَ ٱلْحَرَامَ يَبْتَغُونَ فَضْلًا مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَرِضْوَٰنًا وَإِذَا حَلَلْتُمْ فَٱصْطَادُوا وَلَا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شَنَءَانُ قَوْمٍ أَن صَدُّوكُمْ عَنِ ٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْحَرَامِ أَن تَعْتَدُوا وَتَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى ٱلْبِرِّ وَٱلتَّقْوَىٰ وَلَا تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى ٱلْإِثْمِ وَٱلْعُدْوَٰنِ وَٱتَّقُوا ٱللَّهَ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ } [المائدة:2].
O you who believe! Violate not the sanctity of the Symbols of Allâh, nor of the Sacred Month, nor of the animals brought for sacrifice, nor the garlanded people or animals, etc. [Marked by the garlands on their necks made from the outer part of the treestems (of Makkah) for their security], nor the people coming to the Sacred House (Makkah), seeking the bounty and good pleasure of their Lord. But when you finish the Ihrâm (of Hajj or ‘Umrah), you may hunt, and let not the hatred of some people in (once) stopping you from AlMasjidalHarâm (at Makkah) lead you to transgression (and hostility on your part). Help you one another in AlBirr and AtTaqwa (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one …{ surah al maidah 2 }
Ayaat from the Quran
{ يَٰأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا كُونُوا قَوَّٰمِينَ لِلَّهِ شُهَدَاءَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ وَلَا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شَنَءَانُ قَوْمٍ عَلَىٰ أَلَّا تَعْدِلُوا ٱعْدِلُوا هُوَ أَقْرَبُ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ وَٱتَّقُوا ٱللَّهَ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ } [المائدة:8].
O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allâh and be just witnesses and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety, and fear Allâh. Verily, Allâh is WellAcquainted with what you do. { surah al maidah 8 }
{ يَٰبَنِي ءَادَمَ قَدْ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكُمْ لِبَاسًا يُوَٰرِي سَوْءَٰتِكُمْ وَرِيشًا وَلِبَاسُ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ } [الأعراف:26].
O Children of Adam! We have bestowed raiment upon you to cover yourselves (screen your private parts, etc.) and as an adornment, and the raiment of righteousness, that is better. Such are among the Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allâh, that they may remember (i.e. leave falsehood and follow truth ). {surah al araf 26}
Also Almighty says
{ لَا تَقُمْ فِيهِ أَبَدًا لَّمَسْجِدٌ أُسِّسَ عَلَى ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ مِنْ أَوَّلِ يَوْمٍ أَحَقُّ أَن تَقُومَ فِيهِ فِيهِ رِجَالٌ يُحِبُّونَ أَن يَتَطَهَّرُوا وَٱللَّهُ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُطَّهِّرِينَ (108) أَفَمَنْ أَسَّسَ بُنْيَٰنَهُ عَلَىٰ تَقْوَىٰ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِضْوَٰنٍ خَيْرٌ أَم مَّنْ أَسَّسَ بُنْيَٰنَهُ عَلَىٰ شَفَا جُرُفٍ هَارٍ فَٱنْهَارَ بِهِ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِي ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ (109) } [التوبة:108-109].
Is it then he, who laid the foundation of his building on piety to Allâh and His Good Pleasure, better, or he who laid the foundation of his building on an undetermined brink of a precipice ready to crumble down, so that it crumbled to pieces with him into the Fire of Hell. And Allâh guides not the people who are the Zâlimûn (cruel, violent, proud, polytheist and wrong-doer).
The building which they built will never cease to be a cause of hypocrisy and doubt in their hearts, unless their hearts are cut to pieces. (i.e. till they die). And Allâh is All-Knowing, All-Wise.
{surah al tawba 108 & 109 }
{ وَأْمُرْ أَهْلَكَ بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَٱصْطَبِرْ عَلَيْهَا لَا نَسْءَلُكَ رِزْقًا نَّحْنُ نَرْزُقُكَ وَٱلْعَٰقِبَةُ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ } [طه:132].
And enjoin As-Salât (the prayer) on your family, and be patient in offering them [i.e. the Salât (prayers)]. We ask not of you a provision (i.e. to give Us something: money, etc.); We provide for you. And the good end (i.e. Paradise) is for the Muttaqûn (pious – see V.2:2).
{surah taha 132 }
Allah Almighty says Almighty says in the Holy Quran
{ ذَٰلِكَ وَمَن يُعَظِّمْ شَعَٰئِرَ ٱللَّهِ فَإِنَّهَا مِن تَقْوَى ٱلْقُلُوبِ } [الحج:32].
Hunafâ’ Lillâh (i.e. to worship none but Allâh), not associating partners (in worship, etc.) unto Him
and whoever assigns partners to Allâh, it is as if he had fallen from the sky, and the birds had snatched him, or the wind had thrown him to a far off place.
{surah al hajj 32 }
{ لَن يَنَالَ ٱللَّهَ لُحُومُهَا وَلَا دِمَاؤُهَا وَلَٰكِن يَنَالُهُ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ مِنكُمْ كَذَٰلِكَ سَخَّرَهَا لَكُمْ لِتُكَبِّرُوا ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ مَا هَدَىٰكُمْ وَبَشِّرِ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ } [الحج:37].
It is neither their meat nor their blood that reaches Allâh, but it is piety from you that reaches Him. Thus have We made them subject to you that you may magnify Allâh for His Guidance to you. And give glad tidings (O Muhammad SAW) to the Muhsinûn (doers of good).
{surah al hajj 37 }
Also Almighty says in the Holy Quran
{ وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱهْتَدَوْا زَادَهُمْ هُدًى وَءَاتَىٰهُمْ تَقْوَىٰهُمْ } [محمد:17].
While as for those who accept guidance, He increases their guidance, and bestows on them their piety.
{surah muhammed 17 }
{ إِذْ جَعَلَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فِي قُلُوبِهِمُ ٱلْحَمِيَّةَ حَمِيَّةَ ٱلْجَٰهِلِيَّةِ فَأَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ سَكِينَتَهُ عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِ وَعَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَأَلْزَمَهُمْ كَلِمَةَ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ وَكَانُوا أَحَقَّ بِهَا وَأَهْلَهَا وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمًا } [الفتح:26].
When those who disbelieve had put in their hearts pride and haughtiness the pride and haughtiness of the time of ignorance,
then Allâh sent down His Sakinah (calmness and tranquillity) upon His Messenger ( SAW) and upon the believers,
and made them stick to the word of piety (i.e. none has the right to be worshipped but Allâh),
and they were well entitled to it and worthy of it And Allâh is the All-Knower of everything.
{surah al fateh 26 }
ALLAH Almighty also says in the Holy Quran
{ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَغُضُّونَ أَصْوَٰتَهُمْ عِندَ رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ أُولَٰئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱمْتَحَنَ ٱللَّهُ قُلُوبَهُمْ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَأَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ } [الحجرات:3].
Verily! Those who lower their voices in the presence of Allâh’s Messenger (SAW),
they are the ones whose hearts Allâh has tested for piety. For them is forgiveness and a great reward.
{ surah alhajrat 3 }
{ يَٰأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا إِذَا تَنَٰجَيْتُمْ فَلَا تَتَنَٰجَوْا بِٱلْإِثْمِ وَٱلْعُدْوَٰنِ وَمَعْصِيَتِ ٱلرَّسُولِ وَتَنَٰجَوْا بِٱلْبِرِّ وَٱلتَّقْوَىٰ وَٱتَّقُوا ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِي إِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ } [المجادلة:9].
O you who believe! When you hold secret counsel, do it not for sin and wrong-doing, and disobedience towards the Messenger (Muhammad SAW)
but do it for Al-Birr (righteousness) and Taqwa (virtues and piety); and fear Allâh unto Whom you shall be gathered.
{surah mujadila 9 }
{ وَمَا يَذْكُرُونَ إِلَّا أَن يَشَاءَ ٱللَّهُ هُوَ أَهْلُ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ وَأَهْلُ ٱلْمَغْفِرَةِ } [المدثر:56].
And they will not receive admonition unless Allâh wills; He (Allâh) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of.
and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilâh (Allah) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins).
{ surah al mudassir 56 }
{ فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَىٰهَا } [الشمس:8].
Then He showed him what is wrong for him and what is right for him; {surah ashames 8 }
{ أَوْ أَمَرَ بِٱلتَّقْوَىٰ } [العلق:12].
Or enjoins piety? { surah al alaq 12 }
