Introduction:
This blog is going to talk about one of the most important and effective women in the history of Islam. This blog is going to talk about Fatima bint Mohammad. Like her mother, Khadija bint Khuwailid, Fatima bint Mohammad helped a lot at the dawn of Islam. She was a real and true support to her father, prophet Mohammad.
The influence of fatima bint mohammad:
The nickname of Fatima, was “her father’s mother”. This is because she was kind and affectionate to prophet Mohammad. Fatima was peerless and unique in her religion and character. Fatima was the youngest among the prophet’s four daughters, Ruqayya, Zainab and umm Kulthoom. Fatima was the dearest daughter to prophet Mohammad who said: “The dearest daughter to me is Fatima. Al-Zahraa is a part of me and I am a part of her. whoever hurts fatima, hurts me; and whoever hurts me hurts fatima.” Fatima was the best woman ever. She was the best female dweller of paradise. prophet mohammad made dua for Allah to protect her and her descendants from the devil forever.
Fatima and her marital household:
Fatima married Ali ibn abi Talib. He was one of the noblest men. She was one of the noblest women. Nevertheless, she had very humble furniture. Fatima’s bed was a simple mattress made of a ram’s skin stuffed with the fibers of palm trees. She had a very simple pillow too. Fatima had two grinding stones. She used two jars for her drinking and cooking water. Fatima used to carry her house’s water in waterskins. She kept carrying and bringingwater home till the rope of the waterskin left its marks on her neck. Fatima swept her house till her clothes were dusty. She made fire till the smoke left its smell in her clothes.
Father-daughter relationship:
Prophet Mohammad loved Fatima a lot. Fatima loved her father a lot. Fatima was always near to her father. At the beginning of the Islamic call and revelation, Fatima kept a close caring eye on her dear father. Fatima was born five years before the first revelation. Therefore, Fatima was a young girl at that time. However, this didn’t prevent her from defending her dear father against the hostilities of the elite of makkah. Prophet Mohammad saw in fatima both his mother Aamina and her mother Khadijah. Fatima was a good and true support to her father.
The first relative to die after the prophet:
Prophet Mohammad got very seriously ill. It was the illness of his death. Fatima went to visit him. He whispered something in her ear. She began to weep. Seeing her so, prophet Mohammad whispered to her again. Accordingly, she smiled. Long later, some people asked Fatima about this incident. She explained saying that prophet Mohammad told her the secret that he was going to die soo. Therefore, she said, she cried. again prophet mohammad told her the news that she would be the first one to die after him. therefore, she smiled, she said. Surprisingly, Fatima died only six months after the prophet’s death.
