Online Quran classes are now the most practical way for a British Muslim family to give a child — or themselves — a serious, structured Quran education. The local Saturday madrasah will always have a place, but for live Tajweed correction, flexible UK-time scheduling, and one-to-one attention, online classes outperform every other option.
Eaalim Institute has been delivering online Quran classes to British families since 2009. Every class is private, live, and taught by an Al-Azhar University graduate. Our pricing is in pounds, our schedule fits BST and GMT, and your first class is always free.
What Makes Eaalim Different
Hundreds of online academies offer "Quran classes". A few make a real difference for British families. Here is what distinguishes the strong ones — and what you should hold every academy you consider to:
Live One-to-One Tuition
Every class is a private 30-minute lesson with a qualified teacher — no group classes, no recorded videos, no shared screens with other students.
Al-Azhar Certified Teachers
Every Quran instructor holds a degree and ijazah from Al-Azhar University in Cairo, the oldest Islamic university in the world.
UK-Time Scheduling
Slots from 6am to 11pm GMT/BST, seven days a week — perfectly matched to British school hours, work hours and family routines.
GBP Pricing, No Surprises
Transparent monthly plans in pounds, automatic family discounts, and the freedom to pause during exams or holidays without penalty.
Female & Male Teachers
Full roster of both male and female Al-Azhar certified teachers — your preference is respected from the moment you book.
Special-Needs Support
Dedicated tracks and trained teachers for children with ADHD, autism, Down syndrome and other learning profiles.
UK Programmes — Four Tracks
Most British students take one or two of these programmes at a time, blending them as they progress.
PROGRAMME 1
Noorani Qaida (Foundations)
Arabic letters, vowels, sukoon, shaddah, tanween and the rules of joining letters. The non-negotiable starting point for any beginner aged 4 to 84. Most UK students complete Qaida in 12–16 weeks at two classes per week.
PROGRAMME 2
Quran Reading With Tajweed
Once Qaida is solid, we move into Surah Al-Fatihah and Juz' Amma with live Tajweed correction — Ghunnah, Noon Saakin, Meem Saakin, Madd timing and Makharij. Most British students reach confident Juz' Amma within 6–12 months.
PROGRAMME 3
Hifz (Memorisation)
Structured Sabaq / Sabaq Para / Manzil routine for children aged 7+ and motivated adults, designed to fit alongside the UK school year. Realistic pace of half a page to one page per day.
PROGRAMME 4
Quranic Arabic
Quran-focused vocabulary, basic grammar to follow simple verses, and gradual translation work. Pairs beautifully with Tajweed for adults seeking deeper Salah and Tarawih connection.
Online Quran Classes vs Saturday Madrasah
Many UK Muslim parents combine the two — online for daily/weekly Tajweed and Hifz progress, the local masjid for community, friendships and Eid events. Here is an honest side-by-side:
| Aspect | Online Quran Classes (Eaalim) | Local Saturday Madrasah |
|---|---|---|
| Class format | Live one-to-one over Zoom / Skype / Meet | Group classes of 15–25 children |
| Reading time per lesson | 30 minutes of corrected reading per child | 2–3 minutes per child per Saturday |
| Tajweed depth | Live correction every few seconds | Limited — teacher splits attention |
| Travel & logistics | Zero — lesson on your sofa | Saturday morning drive across town |
| Schedule flexibility | 6am–11pm UK, 7 days a week | Saturday morning only |
| Adult learners | Catered for, evening slots available | Rare — most madrasahs are children-only |
| Pricing | From under £8 per 30-min, GBP | Often free or donation-based |
| Community feel | Online — chat, WhatsApp, parent reports | Strong in person |

Online Quran Classes UK — FAQs
Are Eaalim's online Quran classes really one-to-one?
Yes — every standard Eaalim Quran class is one teacher and one student over Zoom, Skype or Google Meet. We do not group children by default. You can opt into a small sibling group on request, but the default and the value-for-money choice is private one-to-one tuition.
How much do online Quran classes cost in the UK in 2026?
UK families typically pay between £4 and £15 per 30-minute one-to-one online Quran lesson in 2026. Eaalim's entry plan starts well below the UK industry average of £8 per 30-minute class, with automatic family discounts when you enrol two or more children. The first class is always free and no card is required to book.
Do you offer free online Quran classes for UK students?
Eaalim offers a free 30-minute trial class with an Al-Azhar certified teacher — no card required, no obligation. Beyond the trial, we run sponsored slots from time to time for UK families in genuine financial difficulty; mention this when you message our coordinator and we will share what is currently available.
Are the teachers based in the UK?
Eaalim Institute is registered as a UK company (Companies House #09387364). Our Quran teachers are graduates of Al-Azhar University in Cairo who deliver classes in fluent English to students across the UK, US, Canada, Australia and Europe. The pedagogy, curriculum and methodology are designed with British families in mind.
Are your Quran teachers qualified?
Every Eaalim Quran instructor is a graduate of Al-Azhar University, the oldest Islamic university in the world, with a verified ijazah in Quran recitation. Each teacher has trained for at least twelve years in Quran, Tajweed, Arabic and Islamic sciences. You can request credentials for any teacher during your free trial.
Do you have classes for children with special educational needs?
Yes. Eaalim has dedicated tracks for children with ADHD, autism, Down syndrome and other learning needs. Our SEN-aware teachers adapt pace, sensory load and lesson structure to the individual child, and we publish detailed parent guides for each profile on our blog.
Can my child take classes in UK time after school?
Yes. Our most popular slots for British children are weekdays between 4pm and 7pm UK time and weekend mornings. Eaalim teachers work across GMT/BST so we can match a teacher to almost any UK family schedule, including before-school slots from 6am.
Do you teach female-only Quran classes?
Eaalim has a full roster of female Al-Azhar certified teachers, available across UK time zones. When you book your free trial just specify a female teacher — it is a routine and respected preference for daughters and adult sisters.
What programmes do you offer beyond basic Quran reading?
Four core programmes: Noorani Qaida (Arabic foundations), Quran Reading with Tajweed, Hifz (memorisation) and Arabic for Quran Understanding. Most British students take one or two at a time. Advanced students can pursue Ijazah in specific qira'ah with Al-Azhar-trained teachers.
What software and equipment do I need?
Zoom, Skype or Google Meet — Eaalim supports all three. We recommend a tablet or laptop (not a phone), a wired headset with microphone (£15 from Argos or Amazon UK is sufficient), and a stable internet connection. Our coordinators help every new family with setup before the first lesson.
Can I pause my Eaalim plan during exams or Ramadan?
Yes. With a few days' notice we pause your monthly billing during GCSE/A-level exam season, hospital stays, summer holidays or if you prefer to focus on Tarawih in Ramadan. We hold your slot open for up to a month at no extra cost; longer pauses can be arranged on request.
How do I switch teachers if my child does not get on with theirs?
Tell us, and we move you to a different teacher within a week at no extra cost. We would rather match you to the right teacher early than have a child quietly disengage. Most British families settle with their second or third trial teacher and stay for years.
