Introduction:
Truly, mainly , in the first place, this blog is going to talk about one of the most important rules of Tajweed. It is going to talk about Al-Madd (prolongation). Firsrt, Tajweed is the branch of the quranic studies and sciences. Second, Tajweed is concerned with how to read and recite the holy Quran in exactly the same way as prophet Mohammed himself did. Therefore, , Al-Madd (Prolongation) is a Tajweed rule which means prolongation. Moreover, it means to prolong the vowel sounds of the Holy Quran at certain places and for certain reasons. Therefore, we can say that conventionally, Consequently, it may practically be defined as to make the madd (prolongation) vowel letters (sounds) long under some conditions.
The way of pronunciation:
Al-Madd can be prolonged from two to six beats (harakat) upon its kind.
Letters to have Madd:
Leen letters Huroof Maddiyyah
- Leen Letters:
1- Yaa “ي” Saakin preceded by a letter with fatiha.
Example : قُرَيْشٍ
2- Waaoo “و” Saakin preceded by a letter with a fatihah.
Example : خَوْفٍۭ
- Huroof Maddiyyah:
1- alif saakinah “ا” preceded by a fatihah.
Example : بِحِجَارَةٍۢ
2- Waaoo sakinah “و” preceded by a dhammah.
Example : جُوعٍۢ
3- yaa sakinah “ي” preceded by a kasrah.
Example: دِينُكُمْ
