Introduction:

This blog is going to discuss the importance of the day of Arafat in Islam. This Day is one of the most important days in Islam. A Muslim should never neglect or ignore such an important day. It is full of great rewards for a Muslim. a Muslim should spend it obeying Allah and practicing the mention of Allah. Moreover, a Muslim who is not performing pilgrimage should go fasting on that day . When a Muslim does so, Allah forgives all the sins of the previous as well as the following year for them. Such is a great reward for such a little good deed. Therefore, it is a golden chance for every Muslim.

The Day of Arafat among the days of favors:

Nights, days, weeks, months and years pass fast. A Muslim should take the chance in them to do as many good deeds as they could. It is one of the most important seasons for doing good deeds. Both the Holy Quran and the prophet’s sunnah have mentioned the favor of the day of Arafat. The ninth of Dhul-Hijjah is one of the days of the month of Dhul-Hijjah. Dhul-Hijjah is one of the four sacred months. By sacred we mean the four holy lunar months of Rajab, Dhul-Qi’dah, Dhul-Hijjah and al-Muharram. Allah prohibited fighting and aggression during these four months. Consequently, it is the ninth day of Dhul-Hijjah.

Arafat is one of the pilgrimage days:

Arafat is one of the pilgrimage days. Pilgrimage months are shawwal, dhul-qi’dah and dhul-hijjah. During these months, Muslims travel to Makkah to perform pilgrimage. Moreover, Arafat is one of the specific days about which the Quran spoke. The Holy Quran spoke about mentioning Allah on specific days. Those specific days are the ten days of the lunar month of Dhul-Hijjah. In fact, the Holy Quran meant the ten days of the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah. Ibn Abbas explained the ten days as the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah. In addition, it is one of the ten days by which Allah vowed in the Holy Quran.

Arafat, the day with the great importance:

The oath of Allah denotes the importance and significance of the first ten days of the lunar month of Dhul-Hijjah. Also, Ibn Abbas explained the meaning of the ten days as the first ten days of the month of Dhul-Hijjah. Therefore, it is one of the days during which good deeds have the biggest reward from Allah. Prophet Mohammad said that the best deeds are those which Muslims do during the first ten days of the lunar month of Dhul-Hijjah. Prophet Mohammad stressed that such good deeds are more important than al-Jihad in the cause of Allah.

The day of Arafat when Islam was complete:

On the day of Arafat, the revelation of the Holy Quran was completed. The last aya of the Holy Quran which Allah revealed was on the day of Arafat. It happened that Arafat was on Friday that year as well. Therefore, Prophet Mohammad was keen on fasting during the first nine days of the lunar month of Dhul-Hijjah amongst which is the day of Arafat of course. Fasting on the day of Arafat non-pilgrim Muslims dedicate fasting on the day of Arafah of course. The day of Mina, Arafat and the day of slaughter are the feast days for pilgrims. On the day of Arafat, making dua is very important for a Muslim.

Escaping the hellfire on the day of Arafat:

Prophet Mohammad said that Allah spares the greatest number of Muslims from being tortured in the hellfire on the day of Arafat. On the other hand, Allah boasts in front of the angels for the great numbers of pilgrims on the day of Arafat. Muslims, pilgrims and non pilgrims say Takbeer on the day of arafat. They say Takbeer after every obligatory prayer during the three days of Tashreeq. The most important event on the day of Arafat is that pilgrims attend the day at the area of Arafat. Without doing so, there is no pilgrimage. Such a day of favor as arafat is a day for a Muslim never to lose or waste.
