Muslim scholars have studied the conditions of water which is suitable for making one’s wudu with. It is very well known that water is almost the only and main source of purity in Islam. a Muslim can have a bath to achieve purity. Before prayer, a Muslim must make wudu to be ready to perform their prayer. That is why wudu prepares a Muslim to perform their obligatory as well as voluntary prayers. The water with which a Muslim can make their wudu must meet certain conditions. First, this water must be clean and pure itself. It mustn’t have an offensive color, taste or smell.
For more piety and concentration in Salah, a Muslim should feel at ease while praying. To do so, a Muslim should go to the toilet and ease themselves before ablution. The majority of Muslims do so. However, it is not a condition or a part of ablution to go to the toilet. It is a Muslim etiquette to say bismillah and make dua before using water in general. Therefore, a Muslim says bismillah, dua and mentions Allah at the beginning of their ablution. Water is life. water is the source of life. It is one of the ablution etiquettes to economize using water. A Muslim should never waste water.
Having said dua and bismillah and mentioned Allah, a Muslim starts their wudu by washing their hands. They always start with their right hands and wash between their fingers. Tathleeth, or doing each wudu act three times is preferred. It is a sunnah of prophet Mohammad to make dua before and after wudu. After washing their hands, a Muslim washes their mouths, always using their right hand. Next, a Muslim washes their nose by sniffing water into it, giving it a gentle blow out. After that, a Muslim washes their face three times. They wash it from earlobe to earlobe. They also wash it from the hair line to the end of their chin. All the time, they mention Allah while making their wudu.
Having washed their hands and face well, a Muslim proceeds by washing their forearms till the elbows. After doing so, they rub their head, ears and necks with water. If their hair is thick, they use water to rub it very well. If a male Muslim has a thick beard, he also rubs it with water. This makes the beard and the hair very clean. It also has a refreshing effect on the Muslim. Having done with the upper part of the body, a Muslim goes on to wash their feet. starting with the right foot, they wash in between their toes. they wash their right foot till over their heels. Finally, a Muslim washes their left foot, doing the same as they did with their right one. Eventually, a Muslim makes dua at the end of their wudu.
