Introduction

In the life of every Muslim, there are certain days which are full of light and blessings. During these days, the gates of heaven are open, sins are forgiven and duas are answered. The day of Arafah is the master of days. It is not just an ordinary day on the muslim calendar. Truly, it is a divine chance for change and getting closer to allah. A Muislim can mend a their relationship with almighty allah..

The day of arafah, one of allah’s greatest days:

prophet mohammad said: (( “ There is no other day on which Allah saves as many souls from the hellfire than the day of arafah.” )) this day is the ninth of dhul-hijjah. This is when the pilgrims go to Arafah to worship and make dua for Allah. Mercy and forgiveness submerge arafah from everywhere. This is for pilgrims. For non-pilgrim muslims on that day, arafah is the cause of forgiving a muslim’s sins. this happens  during two years; a previous year and a forthcoming year. on arafah day allah revealed the great ayah: ((  Today, I have completed your religion and made my blessing upon you perfect, and consented that islam is your religion.” )) Arafah, a day on which allah boasts of his servants in front of the honorable angels:

Arafah, a chance for a new start with Allah:

Arafah is the day to renew one’s repentance and intention with the holy Quran. It is the day to turn on a new leaf with yourself and your lord. In a world of speed and so many distractions, arafah calls upon us to stand in front of ourselves.

The prophet’s sunnah on arafah day:

1- non- pilgrim muslims go fasting on Arafat day. This forgives a lot of sins.

2- overdoing in dua. The best dua on that day is: ((“La illaha illa allah, alone without a partner, for him is sovereignty, and for him is all praise and he is capable of doing everything.”)).

3- Repeating Takbeer, Tahleel and Tasbeeh.

4- reading the holy quran a lot. this is the quran day. a muslim who seeks more reward and purity should read the holy quran on the arafat day a lot.

5- tranquility and reflection: prophet mohammad spent the whole day of arafat praying, weeping and making sincere dua.

The ruling of fasting all the nine days of dhul-hijjah:

The first nine days of dhul-hijjah are the greatest days for Allah. Allah loves and appreciates a muslim’s good deeds during these days more than any time else.

prophet mohammad said: ((“ There are no other days, during which allah loves good deeds more than during these days. the companions asked “nor al-jihad in the way of Allah? ” he said: ((“ Nor al-jihad in the way of Allah; except for a man who got out of his house sacrificing his soul and money for the cause of Allah”)).

Fasting during these days, especially the day of Arafat, is one of the most confirmed sunnah of prophet mohammad, which brings a muslim closer to his or her lord. it is recommended for a non-pilgrim muslim to go fasting from one til nine dhul-hijjah, particularly on the day of Arafat. Fasting on the day of Arafat forgives the sins of two years.

Conclusion

it is appropriate to get ready for these days. We should overdo worship, fasting and zikr. we should also teach our children and siblings the importance of these days through the spirit of learn quran & Islamic lifestyle: in addition, there should also be a regular program which includes: performing prayers on time, fasting, especially of arafat day, practicing and repeating zikr, takbeer, tahleel and tahmeed. we should also focus and contemplate while reciting the holy quran. charity, even by spending very little money. observing the ties of kinship, making dua and asking for forgiveness. The day of Arafat is not just an ordinary day. It is an appointment with Allah. you can only be free of your sins, like the day when you were born. you can also miss a great gift from allah. Remember that arafat comes only once a year, so take the chance.
