Historically, Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) was born at a time of immense hardship for the Israelites. Practically, Pharaoh, the tyrant of Egypt, issued a cruel decree. Consequently, the decree was  to kill all newborn male children from the Israelites. Essentially, he feared that they would challenge his authority. For this reason, it was in this hostile environment that the mother of Moses gave birth to him. However, she was filled with both love and fear for her child’s safety.

Amazingly, in this moment of deep uncertainty, Allah revealed to her a profound commandnd: ” We inspired the mother of Moses, saying,”

(Qur’an, 28:7

The Mother of Prophet Moses: A Story of Faith and Courage in Today’s World

The Divine Promise Fulfilled

The basket carrying baby Moses drifted down the river.  Allah’s divine plan began to unfold. It reached the palace of Pharaoh. The pharaoh’s wife, Asiya (may Allah be pleased with her), was overcome with compassion. She convinced Pharaoh to spare the child. Allah’s wisdom turned the house of Pharaoh—the very center of oppression—into a sanctuary for Mosese

The Qur’an beautifully describes this

Pharaoh planned to eliminate the Israelites. Allah’s plan ensured that Moses would be raised under the very roof of the oppressor. This moment serves as a powerful reminder. It reminds us  that Allah is the best of planners. Truly, Allah protects us even when the odds seem insurmountable. For Muslims in London, this teaches a crucial lesson: trust in Allah’s wisdom, for He can bring ease from hardship

Reuniting Mother and Child

Another miracle occurred when baby Moses refused to nurse from any of the wet nurses in the palace. At this moment, Allah created a path for the reunion of mother and child. Suddenly, the sister of Moses, who had been following the basket, stepped forward and said۞ وَحَرَّمْنَا عَلَيْهِ ٱلْمَرَاضِعَ مِن قَبْلُ فَقَالَتْ هَلْ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَهْلِ بَيْتٍۢ يَكْفُلُونَهُۥ لَكُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُۥ نَـٰصِحُونَ(القرآن، 28:12)

By Allah’s grace, Moses was returned to his mother so she could nurse him. This fulfilled Allah’s promise and provided comfort to her heart
