The story of prophet Haroon

Different destinies, the same fate:

The pharaoh picked Musa up from the river nile. He brought Musa up in the royal palace. The pharaoh was fond of musa and adopted him as his son. On the other hand, Haroon lived with his mother among bani israel in egypt. Haroon lived among the commons of bani israel in egypt. Therefore, Haroon and Musa were both prophets and brothers who lived in Egypt at the same place and time. Haroon was the elder of the two brothers. Haroon’s full name and lineage was: Haroon ibn imran, ibn Qahith, ibn ibn lawi, ibn Yaqoub, ibn Ishaq ibn ibrahim. Haroon was Musa’s brother and supporter and companion in his call to Allah in egypt.

The characteristics of Haroon and Musa:

Haroon was eloquent and he could speak very well. However, scholars did not say much about the biography of Haroon. Nevertheless, we know very well that Allah supported Musa with Haroon during his call to allah. scholars agree that Haroon was undoubtedly a prophet of allah. Allah sent Haroon as a prophet to the pharaoh. (aya).

Allah accepted the dua of musa and sent Haroon with him as a prophet to confront the unjust pharaoh. Therefore, both Haroon and Musa were two prophets and messengers whom Allah sent to the pharaoh to invite him to embrace the religion of allah. Haroon was mentioned in the Holy Quran more than twenty times. Sometimes the Holy Quran described Haroon as the minister and supporter of prophet musa. Every Muslim should lear the story of prophet Haroon.

Haroon was the spokesman of Musa:

prophet Haroon was more eloquent than musa. when they confronted the pharaoh.(aya).

this shows one of the favors of allah for prophet musa. allah supported prophet musa by sending prophet Haroon as his messenger. musa was basically the main prophet and messenger. allah accepted the dua of prophet musa and sent Harron as a prophet to support him. however, Haroon was popular with bani israel. they like Haroon a lot. on the journey of ascension, prophet mohammad saw prophet Haroon with his beard almost reaching his naval. when prophet mohammad asked Jibril about the man he saw, Jibril replied it was Haroon ibn imran. when musa had an appointment with his lord for thirty nights, later prolonged to forty, Haroon kept an eye on bani israel during musa’s absence.

Haroon during the crisis of al-Samiri:

Musa was absent for  forty nights. During that time, al-samiri, one of musa’s followers spread rumors that musa lost his way in the sinai desert. Therefore, al-samiri built a statue for bani israel to worship it during musa’s absence. it was a crisis during which bani israel split into many groups. Haroon tried his best to keep Bani Israel as one nation. He tried to keep their unity. However, when Musa appeared at last, he was angry with his brother Haroon. Haroon defended himself saying that he feared dividing Bani israel. Allah said that Haroon advised them saying that they were wrong in worshiping the bull statue. Moreover, Haroon asked them to follow him. However, Bani Israel saw that Haroon was too weak to be their leader.

Musa got angry with Haroon:

gold jewelry of the egyptians. They ran away with it during their exodus from egypt. On the other hand, al-samiri defended himself saying that he knew much better than bani israel who obeyed him. musa threatened that allah will torture al-samiri in this worldly life and in the hereafter. Musa got angry with Haroon and blamed him for not stopping bani Israel from worshiping the statue bull. Musa was so angry that he pulled his brother from his long beard. However, Haroon said that Bani Israel almost killed Haroon. Bani Israel blindly obeyed al-samiri when he told them to worship the bull statue. Ali Israel had stolen the Finally Haroon died before his brother Musa, at the age of one hundred and twenty-three years old.
