First of all, the wife of Imran, the mother of Maryam (Mary), peace be upon her, is one of the most inspiring women. Basically, Allah  mentioned her in the Quran. Truly, she represents sincerity, trust in Allah. Also, she represents the strength of a believer’s intention. In addition, her story reflects her devotion. Moreover, she played a big role in raising a child destined for greatness.

Who Was the Wife of Imran

Generaly, the Quran does not specifically mention the wife of Imran’s name. However, she is referred to as Imran’s wife. In addition, she was the mother of Maryam. Also, she was the grandmother of Prophet Isa (Jesus, peace be upon him). Practically, she was a pious and righteous woman. Really, she dedicated herself to the worship of Allah. Also, she sought His pleasure in all her actions.

The Story of Her Vow

Historically, the wife of Imran became pregnant. Consequently, she made a heartfelt vow to Allah. That is why she  dedicated the child in her womb to His service. Thierefore, ths act of devotion demonstrates her sincere faith. Inaddition, she desired to contribute to the worship of Allah.

Allah narrates her words in the Quran:
“إِذْ قَالَتِ ٱمْرَأَتُ عِمْرَٰنَ رَبِّ إِنِّى نَذَرْتُ لَكَ مَا فِى بَطْنِى مُحَرَّرًا فَتَقَبَّلْ مِنِّىٓ ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ”
(Surah Aal Imran: 35)

In fact, she hoped her child would be a boy. This was because it was customary at the time for boys to serve in the temple. However, when she gave birth, she found it was a girl.

She said in surprise:
“فَلَمَّا وَضَعَتْهَا قَالَتْ رَبِّ إِنِّى وَضَعْتُهَآ أُنثَىٰ وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا وَضَعَتْ وَلَيْسَ ٱلذَّكَرُ كَٱلْأُنثَىٰ ۖ وَإِنِّى سَمَّيْتُهَا مَرْيَمَ وَإِنِّىٓ أُعِيذُهَا بِكَ وَذُرِّيَّتَهَا مِنَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ ٱلرَّجِيمِ”
(Surah Aal Imran: 36)

Despite her initial expectations, the wife of Imran entrusted her daughter, Maryam, to Allah’s care. Truly, this trust and acceptance reflect her unwavering faith

Her Trust in Allah

Truly, she gave birth to a girl. However, the wife of Imran fulfilled her vow. In fact, she dedicated Maryam to the service of Allah. Subsequently, she placed Maryam in the care of Prophet Zakariya (Zachariah, peace be upon him). That is why Zakaria raised Maryam with devotion.

Truly, this act highlights the wife of Imran’s complete reliance on Allah’s wisdom.  Moreover, it shows us her understanding that Allah’s plans are always perfect. This is always true, even when they differ from our expectations.

The Legacy of Her Devotion

Amazingly, her sincerity and trust in Allah led to a legacy of righteousness

So, she became one of the greatest women of all time. In addition, she was a  symbol of purity and devotion.

Prophet Isa (Jesus, peace be upon him)

For this reason, her grandson became one of the greatest messengers of Allah.

Truly, the wife of Imran’s faith and sacrifice laid the foundation for a lineage of greatness

Lessons from the Wife of Imran

Sincerity in Intentions:

 Really, her story teaches us the importance of sincerity in dedicating our actions to Allah.

Trust in Allah’s Wisdom:

 Piously, she accepted Allah’s decree with grace. At the same time, she demonstrated complete trust in His plan.

The Role of Women in Faith

In fact, her story highlights the significant role women. Such women  play their roles  in nurturing righteous generations.

Dedicating Children to Allah

Furthermore, the wife of Imran’s vow reminds us of the importance of raising children with strong faith and dedication to Allah’s worship
