The prophet’s Dua

By admin on 12/22/2025

Introduction:

This blog is going to talk about the prophet’s dua’s.  prophet Muhammad said: "Dua is the marrow of worship".

"ِقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم " الدُّعَاءُ مُخُّ الْعِبَادَة

Allah says: “Say Allah doesn’t care for you but for dua; you have disbelieved (what I have sent), it will be a must (to punish you).

"وََيقُولُ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: " قُلْ مَا يَعْبَأُ بِكُمْ رَبِّي لَوْلَا دُعَاؤُكُمْ فَقَدِ كَذَّبْتُمْ فَسَوْفَ يَكُونُ لِزَامًا

The importance of dua for a Muslim:

Therefore, dua is very important in Islam. prophet Mohammad used to make dua for Allah in all cases and for all purposes. He did so  especially for al-Qunoot and the dead. He often said: “I would make dua for Allah to help me even in mending my shoes.'' Dua is the Muslim’s way to reach the satisfaction and pleasure of Allah. Dua is a Muslim’s way of communication with Allah. If a Muslim wants to address Allah, they should pray and make dua. If a Muslim wants Allah to address them, let them listen to the Holy Quran. Therefore, a Muslim should resort to Allah A Muslim should make dua to Allah all the time especially for al-Qunoot and the dead.

Some of the dua etiquette:

No one deserves to be made dua except for Allah. Moreover, if a human makes dua to any being except for Allah, they fall into the great sin of polyethism. A Muslim must never call a partner with Allah. A Muslim should never  share directing their dua with anyone or anything in addition to Allah. For a Muslim’s dua to be accepted by Allah, a Muslim should do certain things beforehand. First, a Muslim must earn their living through lawful means. Illegal ways of earning one’s living, make one’s dua rejected by Allah. Moreover, a Muslim is recommended to be pure while making dua. This should happen  especially for al-Qunoot and the dead.

More dua etiquette:

In addition, a Muslim should be just while making dua; this means that a Muslim should make dua to get good things especially for al-Qunoot and the dead. A Muslim shouldn’t make dua in order to ruin or harm others. Finally, a Muslim shouldn’t make dua against themselves, their children or their property.

1) Examples of dua al-qunoot:

"Allahumma, You are my Lord; there is no God except You. You have created me; and I am Your servant. We are  in Your covenant, keeping our pledge and promise to You as much as we can. We  seek refuge in You from the evil which I have done. Muslims  acknowledge Your grace upon them. and I admit my sin, so forgive me, for no one forgives sins except You.”

"Allahumma, I have wronged myself greatly; and no one forgives sins except You. So forgive me with Your forgiveness and have mercy on me. Indeed You are the Forgiving, the Merciful.”

"Allahumma, I seek refuge in You from worry, sadness, helplessness, laziness, cowardice and miserliness. and the inability to repay my debts and the being unable to defend myself.”

2 ) Dua for the dead:

Prophet Mohammad used to make dua for the deceased. This is what a dead person needs; to make dua for them. Prophet Mohammad said:

“If a Muslim dies, their good deeds stop, except for three things: a sustainable goods deed (charity), useful knowledge left behind or a good child who makes dua for the dead one.”

The favor of making dua for the dead:

Prophet Mohammad said: (“Oh God, so-and-so, the son of so-and-so, is under Your protection and your protection. He has escaped the temptation of the grave and the torment of the Fire, and You are worthy of loyalty and truth. O God, forgive him and have mercy on him, for You are the Forgiving, the Merciful).

He also said: (O God, forgive him, have mercy on him, pardon him, treat him well, honor his abode, widen his entrance, wash him with water, snow, and hail, and purify him of sins as a white garment is purified of filth, and replace it with a better home. His home, a better family than his family, a better husband than his wife, and protection from the temptation of the grave and the torment of the Fire).
