Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-06-27
1. Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account or using Eaalim Lessons (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
If you're using the Service as a teacher or administrator, you represent that you're at least 18 years old. If you're using it as a student, your parent or guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf — see our COPPA notice for details on parental consent.
2. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe. Don't share your password with anyone. If you think your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
Student accounts use a Student ID instead of a password, per our COPPA-friendly design. Parents and teachers should keep Student IDs confidential and not share them publicly.
3. What you can do with the Service
- Browse the lesson library and complete assigned lessons.
- Submit audio recordings for teacher review (students).
- Build and assign lessons (teachers with Lesson Builder permission).
- Earn and share certificates.
- Use family-plan features for multiple students (parents).
4. What you cannot do
- Use the Service to break any law, harass others, or upload harmful content.
- Attempt to access another user's account or data.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the Service's lesson content for redistribution.
- Upload audio that contains identifying information about someone without their consent.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service or its content.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. For repeat or severe violations, we may also remove access without refund.
5. Lesson content and intellectual property
The Service's lesson content (text, audio, illustrations, Quran rendering) is owned by Eaalim or licensed to us. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use it for your own learning while your account is active.
User-generated content (audio recordings you submit, lessons you build as a teacher) remains yours. By submitting it through the Service, you grant us a license to host it, display it to authorized users (e.g. your teacher reviewing your audio), and back it up to our processors — solely for the purpose of running the Service.
6. Subscriptions and billing
Some features require a paid subscription. Family-plan subscriptions are processed by Stripe; we don't store credit card numbers on our servers.
- Trial: 14 days free, then we charge unless you cancel.
- Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. Manage from your billing page.
- Cancellation: cancel anytime; access continues through the end of your current billing period.
- Refunds: the platform is currently free to use. If paid subscriptions are introduced, the refund terms will be set out here before any charge is taken.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We strive for high uptime + accurate content, but we don't guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fully accurate at all times.
Lesson content is curated for educational purposes. For matters of religious authority or Tajweed certification recognized by external institutions, please consult qualified scholars in person.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Eaalim's total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
9. Termination
You can delete your account anytime by contacting us (we'll add a self-serve delete option as part of an upcoming release).
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, fail to pay for a subscription, or otherwise abuse the Service. We'll give reasonable notice when possible.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be announced via email + in-app banner at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or your use of the Service, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You and Eaalim agree that the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any such dispute — except that, if you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you may also bring proceedings in your country of residence where local law gives you that right.
