Introduction:
In this blog, we are going to discuss and talk about the types of madd. There are about eight types of madd. We have natural al-madd (al-madd al-tabee’ee). There is the alternative prolongation (al-madd al-badal). There is also replacement prolongation (madd Ewadh). Moreover, there is also madd aaridh li-ssukoon. There is also madd al-leen.. In addition, there is also madd waajib muttasil. Likewise, there is also madd Jaiz Munfasil. Finally, we have madd Lazim. We are going to discuss these types of madd in detail.
Madd Tabee’ee (Natural prolongation):
al-Madd al-Tabee’ee means the natural madd. The natural madd is simply one of the three madd letters. ا or و or ي (Huroof daddeyah) not followed by a Hamzah ( ء) or a sakin letter .The natural Madd is prolonged two beats.
The E-aalim and al-madd al-tabee’ee:
E-aalim is an online institute and platform. e-aalim teaches islamic studies, arabic, the holy quran and tajweed. Tajweed is the science and branch of islamic studies. The subject of tajweed is to recite and read the holy quran in the same way prophet mohammad recited and read the holy quran. There are a lot of rules for reading and reciting the holy quran. One of these tajweed rules is the rule of al-madd al-tabee. it means to prolong the natural madd letter for two beats. The three natural madd letters are the three vowel letters in arabic.
