Introduction:

This blog is going to talk about Ayatul-Kursi as one of the greatest ayah in the holy Quran. Prophet Mohammad described it as the greatest aya because it includes deep meanings and great attributes for Allah. In this ayah, Allah declares supreme sovereignty over this universe. It stresses Allah’s eternal presence. Moreover, it gives its reader serenity and faith. In this blog, we are going to explain why ayatul-kursi was called the greatest ayah in the Quran and what are the best times to read it. In other words, we are going to discuss why ayatul-kursi is the greatest ayah in the quran.

Declaring the supreme sovereignty of Allah:

 Allah has the supreme sovereignty over this universe. This is clear in the phrase: (Allah la illaha illa howa  اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ)) This means the supreme sovereignty of Allah as the One and Only Lord Who is worshiped without a partner. In it the greatness and the authority of Allah over the universe appear.

stressing the eternal presence of allah:

((The aya describes Allah as the Everlasting Living and Supporter)). This means that Allah always and forever exists as the One Who does not die or need anyone. This happens while all the creatures depend on him.

Stressing the comprehensive knowledge of allah:

The ayah says: ((He knows what is between their hands and behind them)) “يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ”This denotes Allah’s absolute knowledge of everything, whether it is past, present or future. This reinforces a Muslim’s faith that Allah knows all their circumstances.

Why ayatul-kursi is the greatest ayah in the quran:

providing protection against all evils:

    Reading Ayatul-kursi is considered a shield for a Muslim against all evils. This is whether the evils  are human or jinn. Prophet Mohammad recommended reading it to protect oneself and one’s house. Prophet Mohammad said: ((“Read al-baqarah; as reading it is a blessing, abandoning it is a regret; and the futile magicians can’t overcome it”  ))“اقرؤوا سورة البقرة، فإن أخذها بركة، وتركها حسرة، ولا تستطيعها البطلة.. said other hadiths. Prophet Mohammad said: ((“Everything has a peak, the peak of the holy Quran is surah al-Baqarah. who reads it at night, the devil can’t enter the house for three nights.”))

Forgiving sins.

Sticking to reading ayatul-kursi after the obligatory prayers, helps forgive sins. It makes a Muslim nearer to Allah and stronger.

It strengthens faith:

Ayatul-Kursi includes the beautiful names and attributes of Allah. They reinforce faith and increase the certainty of a Muslim about the ability and greatness of allah.

It is a gate of paradise:

Prophet Mohammad said who reads Ayatul-Kursi after every obligatory prayer, they will enter into paradise. This hadith shows how reading ayatul-kursi makes paradise near to those who always read it.

Improving concentration in prayer:

When a muslim thinks about the meaning of ayatul-kursi before praying, this helps improve their piety and concentration during praying.

  • after every obligatory prayer.

Reading Ayatul-Kursi after the obligatory prayers makes a Muslim live in the protection of Allah and opens the gates of paradise to them. Prophet Mohammad said: 

((“When you are about to sleep, read Ayatul-Kursi, you will still have a protector from Allah and no devil will not approach you till the morning.

  • Reading Ayatul-Kursi before sleeping and is a protector against the devils.

Leaving the house:

Reading Ayatul-Kursi when leaving the house gives a Muslim a divine protection as long as they are outdoors.

In times of worry and fear:

In times of worry and fear, reading Ayatul-Kursi gives a Muslim’s heart a sense of security and makes a Muslim feel that Allah is with them and protects them.

conclusion:

Ayatul-Kursi is not just an ordinary aya in the holy Quran. Rather, it is a strong source of faith and serenity for a Muslim. This happens through reading it in the suitable times. A Muslim can live in the protection and the favor of Allah. They must be certain that they are always with Allah.
